The Montgomery County Commission serves as the governing body for Montgomery County, Alabama. The Commission consists of five district‑elected members, each serving a four‑year term and representing approximately 45,000 residents. The Chairperson and Vice Chair are chosen by majority vote of the Commission.

As the administrative authority for Montgomery County, the Commission manages all county public funds, adopts the annual budget, and ensures expenditures do not exceed revenues. Key responsibilities include county road construction and maintenance outside municipal limits, oversight of county departments, procurement of supplies and equipment, and general support services such as telecommunications, mail distribution, and employee benefits.

The Commission meets on the first and third Tuesday each month. Information Sessions begin at 9:00 a.m., followed by the Formal Session at 10:00 a.m. Meetings are held in the Commission Chamber on the first floor of the Montgomery County Administration Building, Courthouse Annex III, at 101 S. Lawrence Street in Montgomery, Alabama.
