
The Montgomery County Commission is pleased to announce the appointment of Regina Walker as Acting County Administrator. Walker has served as the County’s Deputy Administrator since April 2025, providing executive leadership across a wide range of countywide initiatives and helping strengthen operations throughout the organization.
In her role as Deputy Administrator, Walker led major efforts including the acquisition and planning of the new Probate East Office, oversight of the County’s Strategic Planning procurement process, development of expanded emergency medical services for the unincorporated areas of Montgomery County, and long‑range planning for the renovation and future use of 350 Adams Avenue. She also played a central role in building the County’s leadership team by assisting with the recruitment and selection of several key positions, including the County Attorney, Human Resources Director, Grants Administrator, Manager of Public Affairs, and other essential roles.
Walker brings more than 30 years of executive leadership experience in local government, nonprofit management, grant administration, and community development. Her career includes leading complex organizational initiatives, securing millions of dollars in competitive grant funding, fostering multi‑sector partnerships, and advancing operational excellence across both public and nonprofit entities.
As Acting County Administrator, Walker will oversee the County’s day‑to‑day operations and continue close collaboration with the County Commission, department directors, employees, and community partners. Her leadership will support the efficient delivery of services and the advancement of the Commission’s long‑term strategic priorities.
