The Montgomery County Commission will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at 10:00 AM in the Commissioner Chamber of Annex III located at 101 South Lawrence Street, Montgomery, Alabama 36104. The purpose of this hearing is to allow public comment on the County’s current and future Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program. The following items will be discussed and information made available at the hearing:
1) proposed close out of CDBG Project No. CY-CM-RR-18-017 and discussion of construction completion and project benefits;
2) consideration of submission of an FY 2020 CDBG-CV application and discussion of activities viewed as the County's most pressing program eligible needs as related to COVID-19; and
3) consideration of submission of an FY 2021 CDBG application and discussion of activities viewed as the County's most pressing community development needs, including economic development possibilities.
CDBG funds may be used to primarily benefit low and moderate income persons. Information to be presented regarding the upcoming FY 2021 grant cycle will include the anticipated amount of grant funds available, the range of eligible activities that may be undertaken, and discussion of possible projects for which the Montgomery County Commission should consider for submission of an application to the State of Alabama requesting CDBG funds.
